British Mps: European Parliament Should Impose New Sanctions on Iran

The British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom and 25 British Members of Parliament from both Houses of Commons and Lords, in a letter to the current head of the rotating EU presidency, Portuguese Prime Minister Jose Socrates, on Thursday called for the European Union to follow the United States’ lead and impose sanctions targeting Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which it accused of spreading weapons of mass destruction, and its elite Quds Force, which it designated as a supporter of terrorism and called the European Union to impose sanctions targeting Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom, reminding that this committee enjoys support of 200 British Members of Parliament from both Houses of Commons and Lords, addressing the EU President, asserted that Europe shouldn’t give no more opportunity to the mullahs’ regime to advance its nuclear weapon and its evil objectives in the Middle East.

The British Parliamentary Committee for Iran Freedom and 25 British Members of Parliament from both Houses of Commons and Lords emphasized that EU should abide by the European Court of Justice verdict in lifting the limitations from the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), and announced: “We support the very accessible third option presented by the Iranian Resistance President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi that calls the world society to support democratic change in Iran by the Iranian people and Resistance. This is the only practical solution to prevent crisis in Iran and the region.”
