According to the Guardian, recently disclosed US embassy documents in Baku, Azerbaijan revealed the suppression of Sunnis under the orders of Ahmadinejad. Pursuant to telegrams transmitted by the US embassy in Baku to Washington dating 12 June 2009, Ahmadinejad committed aggressive and provocative measures against Iran’s Sunnis.
This document adds further actions including harassing Sunni scholars, preventing mass prayers and attacking Sunni mosques.
