According to Al-Sabah daily, one of the Iraqi Oil Ministry officials revealed that due to irregular extraction of the southern Iraqi oil wells by the Iranian regime and steeling it, 9 oil wells were no more usable whatsoever.

Al- Sabah added: One of the Southern Oil Company officials, on condition of anonymity, said: “Due to over-extraction of oil by the Iranian regime in Basra region, 9 out of 22 present oil wells in the area have reached a condition which aren’t usable anymore.” This official accused Iran of not allowing Iraqi experts to visit those wells.

The Fakka region’s oil wells are being commonly exploited with Iraqi Abu Ghuraib oil well but the Iranian regime is exploiting 6 wells of them independently.
