On Friday, families of the massacred prisoners in 1988 gathered in Khavaran Cemetery in Tehran to commemorate the memories of their loved ones. In this gathering which as a tradition was held on the last Friday of the Iranian year, the families delivered speeches and read poems and presented bouquets of flowers to the unknown graves of these martyrs.

This ceremony took place while the State Security Forces (SSF) and ‘plain clothes’ agents had surrounded the region and threatened the families.
