Political prisoner Jamshid Dehghani issued a message revealing the Iranian regime’s pressures and crimes committed against Sunni political prisoners.
Parts of this message were posted on the Internet:
“The interrogator told me there are a number of papers I have to sign. I said what papers, what is written in them? He said don’t worry about these things, just a few papers, if you want to remain alive here, because here nobody has any news of you, they don’t know we have arrested you; not anyone will know who arrested you, no one has any news of you; if you don’t sign these papers we will make you vanish and we will bury your body right here. Then threaten your family and summon them to the intelligence bureau.
“Around five months ago we went on hunger strike for about 73 days. 73 days protesting why we had been sentenced to death? If had done anything, why don’t they take us to an open court? In Iran, being a Kurd and a Sunni are both considered crimes, let alone if you want to publicize for being Sunnis. They despise the Sunnis, they despise the Kurds, that is why we are sentenced to death. Otherwise, we hadn’t done anything else. I ask all the media outlets, all the international and human rights organizations, I ask all Muslims to not allow people like us be killed and we are innocent.”
