Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi said returning to Maliki-era politics will be catastrophic for Iraq, Al Arabiya TV reported.
“Iraq is facing a two-way path, either heading towards national unity and or God forbid towards civil war and division,” he said.
“I have many differences with him (Maliki) on how to run the country,” al-Nujaifi added.
“…Maliki acts in a way with everyone as if everyone is ISIL and terrorist, and he starts shelling civilians with unguided bombs and as result a million Anbar residents have been displaced. We firmly reject this approach,” he continued.
“We completely denounce direct intervention by any government in our affairs in establishing the government,” the Iraqi Parliament speaker said.
