EPA, December 22, 2010 – President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Maryam Rajavi (C), Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani (L) and former Assistant to the US President for Homeland Security Frances Townsend (R) arrive at an international conference in Paris, France, 22 December 2010, organized by the French committee for a Democratic Iran, on a new initiative for a firm policy on Iran and an active approach towards the opposition.

The conference takes place at a time when the Iranian clerical regimes infighting has reached a new peak that was unveiled with the sudden dismissal of Mottaki, mullahs Iranian foreign minister.

According to officials, Tehran has stepped up its campaign against residents of Ashraf, where members of the Iranian opposition in Iraq reside.
