French President Francois Hollande warned that Ukraine’s sovereignty was under threat following the Russian parliament’s decision Saturday to authorize sending troops.
The move by the upper house of parliament “poses a real threat to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine,” Hollande said in a statement.
Furthermore, British Foreign Secretary William Hague condemned Russia’s military measure and expressed his deep concern at the escalation of tensions in Ukraine and the decision by the Russian parliament to allow military measures on Ukrainian soil against the will of this country’s government. This measure is a serious threat against Ukraine’s sovereignty, he added.
