Asharqiya TV reported on June 27 that Rear Admiral Patrick Driscoll, Multi-National Force – Iraq Spokesperson said that there are sessions going on between the representatives of the US Embassy, the Iraqi government and the ICRC over the presence of the PMOI in Iraq.

Rear Admiral Driscoll said that the US forces will implement the International Law regarding the protection of this organization inside its camp. He reiterated that according to US Army intelligence there are no weapons in the camp where this organization resides.

Rear Admiral Driscoll refrained to make any comments on the US forces assistance to the Iraqi government if the Iraqi government wants to expel this organization, and just said that it is a political issue which follows certain procedures.
