According to the state-run ISNA news agency, the Iranian regime’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs emphasized in an interview with state-run media that he has no obligation to create jobs, questioning unemployment figures published by the regime’s Center of Statistics.
“I have said before that the Ministry of Labor has no obligation to create jobs, and this is not a mere slogan,” said Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Abdurreza Sheikholeslami in an interview with the state-run ISNA news agency.
“I have reasons to believe figures published by Iran’s Center of Statistics are wrong and I can argue to prove these numbers cannot be correct,” he continued. “According to the latest figures released, unemployment rates have increased 3.5% in comparison to the same period last year. This figure means an increase of 1 million unemployed individuals.”
He went on to admitting the regime’s vulnerability regarding the increase of unemployed workers, saying since last year, the number of people receiving unemployed insurance has increased by 20,000.
