Millions of Iraqis rallied against Maliki’s government and Iran’s crimes in their country

INTV, 20 Sep 2013 – Millions of Iraqis across the country staged rallies against Maliki’s dictatorship and Iran’s crimes in Iraq. These demonstrations were held in various locations of Baghdad, and the provinces of al-Anbar, Salahaddin, Neinawa, Kirkuk and Diyala.
In Salahaddin Province people staged various demonstrations, especially in the city of Samarra, Tikrit, Biji, Addour and other areas, all condemning Maliki’s threats based on rounding up all protest camps.
Following the Friday prayers in Ramadi and Fallujah in al-Anbar Province, hundreds of thousands of prayers staged a massive demonstration in the international highway.
Al Jazeera aired a report from the Ramadi demonstration saying Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul-Aziz, the speaker in Ramadi, called for supporting Camp Liberty residents and announced, “We have non-Iraqi brothers and sisters who are our guests. They have come to us and we have welcomed them and given them refuge. Based on the duties of Muslims towards other Muslims, one must respect his guests. The PMOI are in quarrel with Iran, an in our Arabic and Iraqi customs it is not right to contempt one’s guest in order to gain the consent of another government. The PMOI have been treated very badly in humanitarian terms, and they have been under siege in a way that no one can believe.”
In the Fallujah demonstration protesters held prayers for two of their martyrs recently gunned down by Maliki’s militia forces in Baghdad.
Tuesday’s demonstrations in Iraq were staged despite preventive measures by Maliki’s repressive forces and various threats, including bombings and assassinations in mosques.
Baghdad TV reported in coinciding with the people’s demonstration two back-to-back bombings in a mosque rocked the city of Samarra and left at least 16 killed and 22 wounded.
Al Rafedein TV reported a bombing in the Abu Gharib bazaar left 11 people dead.
