INTV, 11 Oct 2013 – Louie Meqdad, the political-media coordinator of the Free Syrian Army, shed light on cooperation between Bashar Assad and al-Qaeda against the Syrian rebels.
“The Syrian regime and Iran have been able to enter into Syria militant groups such as Ahrar al-Sham and Islamic Government of Iraq. The regime has established these groups to fight against us and steal the revolution… They want to send this message to the international community that Bashar Assad is fighting against al-Qaeda. This is not true. Bashar Assad and al-Qaeda are both at war with us. They are fighting against the Free Syrian Army,” he said.
