Khomain: An old man waiting in line for hours to receive food baskets suffocated to death due to the pressure of the large crowd.
One of the citizens witnessing this scene on Friday, February 7th, said the mullahs have forced the people to literally resort to begging. All items in this food basket are only worth 340,000 rials (equal to around $14) but the government has said it is valued at 810,000 rials (equal to around $33).
“People have been throwing away nearly all of the food basket items instead of the rice, because the chicken and eggs were rotten. The cooking oil was expired and low in quality,” this Iranian citizen said.
Susangerd: In this city six citizens were injured due to the crowd swarming the food basket lines on Saturday, February 8th.
During the past few days in various cities across Iran a number of Iranians have been injured or fainted and taken to hospitals due to the large crowds, severe cold and fatigue from waiting in long lines for hours. At least three Iranians have lost their lives waiting in these food basket lines.
Bojnourd: Three Iranians were injured on Sunday, February 9th, due to the large crowds and swarming the food basket lines. Those witnessing these scenes started protesting the insulting method used to distribute the goods and used harsh language against senior regime officials.
