Over 200 Lebanese Hezbollah members killed in Syria’s Zebdani

Intense battles continue in the Syrian town of Zebdani. The Lebanese Hezbollah terror group has suffered serious casualties and Syrian fighters continue their struggle, Orient TV reported on Friday, July 31st.
Orient TV:
It has been a month since Hezbollah militants and Assad troops are attempting to take over the town of Zebdani, with all their efforts ending in futile.
From the beginning of these clashes the number of Hezbollah members killed has reached over 200. The latest identified member of this group killed recently is Hossein Rateb.
Rateb and his group were attempting to infiltrate into Zebdani from the al-Zahra Ghal’e area, yet they fell into an ambush placed by Syrian rebels. He and a number of his group were killed, with a number of others wounded.
Following this defeat the Assad regime and its troops staged attacks on Zebdani from two fronts, launching the most intensive battles seen to this day. Assad’s troops have also suffered heavy casualties alongside Hezbollah members from the beginning of the Zebdani clashes.
As the battle rages on the humanitarian situation in this city is becoming ever more drastic by the day considering the fact that Assad’s warplanes have dropped more than 1,000 deadly barrel bombs on the innocent residents.
The Assad regime is literally aiming to make a ghost town out of Zebdani and force its residents to migrate to the town of Mazaya. With such a migration the population in Mazaya would increase and allow Assad’s warplanes to inflict even more casualties in their horrific bombings.
Assad intends to change all the infrastructure of Zebdani and place its own elements in the empty areas, Syrian fighters say.
However, the Assad regime is facing a shortage in troops and foot soldiers, and even using Hezbollah elements and after a month of drastic bombings they have not been able to take over Zebdani from the Syrian fighters. We will fight to the last breath and defend this town, the fighters say.
