Alaedin Borujerdi, chair of the regime’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Commission, emphasized continuing uranium enrichment despite increasing international sanctions.
Regarding news mentioning a new proposal by the P5+1 demanding Iran suspend 20% uranium enrichment and closing down the Fordow site, Borujerdi said, “Uranium enrichment will never be stopped in the Islamic republic, and this has been ratified in a bill by the Majlis (parliament). This is a mandatory measure specified by the Majlis for the government, and the government must abide by this bill.”
Borujerdi is known to be close to Khamenei.
