Senator Ardelean ben-oni leading a delegation from Romania to the Iranian Gathering in Paris

Senator Ardelean ben-oni said: “I am honored to be here tonight with you and although we are very few right now in this moment, I am delighted to present to you a delegation from Romania Republic of Moldova. I have with me here the distinguished members from the Romanian parliament and from the Moldavian parliament and I really thank them and all the others that could not come tonight for their support for you and for our cause, because it is a common cause for all of us.
I think we are the ones who understand you the most, because we used to live under a very oppressive regime, a dictatorial regime very similar to what is happening right now in Iran. It was a regime that was putting people in prison, it was a regime that was killing the people, it was the regime that executed people. It was the regime that was very much an oppressive type of regime that spread fear in to the nation.

And is very similar to what is going on now in Iran and that’s why we understand you the most. And one of the things that I want to share you tonight is that it represents in the Senate of Romania the city of Timisoara where the revolution started that changed the regime of that time. It was the only country within the Eastern Europe that had a communistic regime that was overthrown by a bloody revolution. In all the other countries in the Eastern Europe, there was a soft revolution, but in Romania it was a bloody revolution. But the people at that time could not stand any more the regime, so they raised again the regime and the communists chose to kill the people. Timisoara was surrounded with tanks and awaited from the dictator an order to erase Timisoara from the face of the earth. But at that time people resisted, people stayed in the streets, people protested, people who were willing to give their lives because they knew that they want freedom, and freedom is the fate that as soon as you have it you couldn’t turn black to a regime that is dictatorial one and is oppressive one.
It will be a time when all of us will be very happy because Iran will be free, and I hope this time will be very soon.

And I hope next time this delegation along with other members of the Romanians and Moldavian parliament will go in Iran and celebrate the freedom and celebrate democracy and celebrate a free Iran, that is what you want, that is our marsh together, it is not your cause only, it is our cause and we want to celebrate with you a free Iran, may God bless you.”
