US State Department spokesman Mark Kirby in Washington said the United States will continue its support for the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.
While the Iraqi Prime Minister is facing real challenges inside the country Washington will provide support, he added, emphasizing the US supports the independent Iraqi government and only backs this government.
Kirby denied claims of the US supporting the division of Iraq and said this policy is not in Washington’s perspective, adding the US is not seeking any such scenario for the future of Iraq.
