Secretary General of the Association of Independent Iraqi Jurists (AIJ), called on international community and the UN Security Council to confront the aggressive ambitions of the Iranian regime in the region and to support the NCRI for a democratic change in Iran.
Secretary General of the AIJ, Sufyan Abbass in an article titled “Iranian regime and its inevitable fate” published by the Iraqi News Agency website wrote:
“Iranian regime is presently a real threat to the security of the region and the world. This fact necessitates that everyone confronts this threat and stand before it. The international community must rescue the humanity from evil of nuclear terrorism of the Iranian regime.
Since the threat of nuclear weapons is a real threat, the UN Security Council has crucial and strategic role in imposing international sanctions against the Iranian regime based on article 41 of the UN chapter VII,
“The UNSC must also support Iranian people on their fight for democratic change inside Iran, and other groups gathered in the NCRI. The NCRI represents all classes of Iranian people. Without this concept, Iranian regime will continue its aggressive policy against its own people and people of the region.”
