A Christian woman writer by the name of Zeinab Baba’i was transferred to Mahabad Central Prison on August 8th to spend the rest of her jail term in that facility.
Prior to this she was arrested along with one of her friends on charges of “measures against the state” and “propagating Christianity”, and sentenced to two years behind bars. This ruling was confirmed by the West Azerbaijan Appeals Court.
Zeinab Baba’i has to this day written three novels and a number of short stories as a series, all published in Farsi. (NCRI Women’s Committee – August 20, 2014)
