The Qalamoun Press Center said over 25 Assad regime elements were killed in an ambush placed by rebel forces in this area, Orient TV reported on Monday, March 31st. A presidential guard colonel was seen amongst those killed in these clashes. Following this ambush two strategic areas have fallen under rebel control and a regime tank was also destroyed by the rebels in the Ras al-Ein front.
