Dr. Ahmed al-Alwani, head of the Iraqi Parliament Economy Commission, told the Al Babeliya TV that Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq is undesired and unacceptable, since he represents a regime that exports international terrorism; flagrantly interferes in Iraq’s affairs; and follows sectarian objectives.
“The Iranian regime, in case its ally Bashar Assad falls, wants to count on Iraq as its own base, and the aim of the regime officials’ visits to Iraq is to have control over this country’s security situation and for Iraq to abide by their orders”, said al-Alwani.
“Of course we will not allow the regime to realize its objectives, and any noble Iraqi, weather in Parliament or in government or human rights organizations or tribes must not allow such plans to go through.”
