Russia is not interested in ‘Iran – Pakistan – India gas transfer’

RIA Novosti, October 15, 2010 – As international sanctions against Iranian regime steps up, Russia announced it will not cooperate in the ‘Iran – Pakistan – India gas transfer’ project.
According to the Russian RIA Novosti, Andrey Budnik, Russian ambassador to Pakistan, said in this regard: “Even a single Russian company is not interested in taking part in Iran-Pakistan gas project.” RIA Novosti added, “These harsh statements are expressed only one month after apparently successful negotiations between Russia and Pakistan. The West does not considers Russia’s silence regarding Iranian regime’s problem as an impartial stance, rather sees it as some sort of support. Moscow is trying to give out a better picture.”
The expenses for the ‘Iran – Pakistan – India pipeline’ are estimated to be 7.6 billion dollars.
