In reaction to Maliki’s raid against Finance Minister Rafe al-Issawi, former Iraqi MP Taha al-Loheibi said Maliki and his inner circle are all Iran’s puppets following the mullahs’ orders.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera TV, he warned the society is in an explosive condition and if Maliki continues his measures there will most definitely be a popular revolution that no one can control.
“Unfortunately, Iran took advantage of the US occupation of Iraq and those who are now in power actually follow Iran’s orders… Now that Syria’s days are numbered, Iran is attempting to take control of Iraq. After Tareq al-Hasehmi it has come after Rafe al-Issawi. They have targeted al-Issawi because he is from the al-Anbar Province and the government is seeking to gain control of al-Anbar to have more access to the borders of Saudi Arabia, Jordan and especially Syria,” he added.
