‘System’ will fall if economy crisis is not contained: former IRGC chief

The ‘system’ will fall if the country’s economy crisis is not brought under control, said Iran’s Expediency Council Secretariat Mohsen Rezaii in an interview with state-run Khabar Online website.
“Right now we are engaged in a very tight economic war, a sacred economic campaign of defense, in which if we act poorly we will suffer an irreversible downfall in the region,” said the former Revolutionary Guards chief.
“Unfortunately, we are witnessing moral and political disputes each day throughout the country. One day it’s a quarrel between the Majlis (parliament) and the government, another day it’s the government against the judicial system, with many issues going far beyond differences in opinions,” Rezaii added.
“Any incorrect measure by individuals or groups will bring upon damage to the whole system. We are now in a situation that if one influential person in the system makes a mistake, he will not be damaging merely his group or party, but the whole system in a regional proportion,” he continued.
