PMOI/MEK, Iran, May 1, 2018 – A group of workers in the city of Saqqez, in Kurdistan province, western Iran demonstrated to celebrate the International Labor Day.

The demonstration took place in Kargar Square where the Basij and the plainclothes agents of the regime attacked that peaceful rally.

The attack led to a scuffle between rallying workers and the plainclothes agents that lasted more than an hour.

Mahmoud Salehi, one of the workers was injured and several other protesters were arrested, and taken to an unknown location. Othman Esmaili was among those arrested. The suppressive agents also took their mobiles and other belongings.

There is no information regarding the fate of those arrested
