The Arab Counsel in Defense of Ashraf issued a statement warning about the presence of armed forces inside Camp Liberty, describing this as a violation of the most fundamental rights of refugees.

“All signs indicates of the Iraqi government – under orders of the Iranian regime – being on the verge of turning Liberty into an all-out prison. The Arab Counsel in Defense of Ashraf warns to all international parties, including the US, European Union, the UN and UNAMI in Baghdad to take urgent action to prevent prison-making measures in Liberty and avert a humanitarian catastrophe that is in the making.
“The Arab Counsel in Defense of Ashraf stresses on international agreements and assurances, especially regarding on no presence of Iraqi forces inside the camp.”
