Iran: fierce disputes over elections law reform

The mullahs Guardian Council, tasked with overseeing elections in the Islamic republic and interpreting the constitution, returned a plan to reform the presidential elections law back to the regime’s Majlis (parliament).
This council raised 14 objections to the Majlis bill to reform the law regarding the regime’s upcoming sham presidential elections.
The objections raised by the Guardian Council are mainly related to the reductions made to the authority of this council over the sham elections.
