Shahr-e Kord: labor protest at sanitation Dept.
A group of medics and doctors working at the sanitation department in Shahr-e Kord went on strike on Tuesday to protest the authorities’ negligence in polluting the Zayandeh-Rood River which has made dozens of Saman school children sick. The striking medics say their warnings since two months ago have gone unnoticed and the Sabah Company belonging to government backed Revolutionary Guards has let its sewage water from the factory to run in to the river polluting and poisoning the water which is being used by villagers as drinking water.
They complain that since the company belongs to the IRGC, nothing has been done to prevent this disaster.
