France24, 3 Dec 2012 – Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkey on Monday for talks on energy and trade as Ankara seeks to replace declining oil exports from Iran.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak earlier indicated the country would be willing to increase gas supplies if Turkey made an official request and a deal could be agreed. A total of nine deals are expected to be signed during the Russian mission to Turkey.
The countries are looking to boost bilateral annual trade from today’s $32 billion to $100 billion a year.
