General James Williams, former US Marine Corps commander in Iraq, in an interview with CNN said this war in Iraq is due to the Iraqi government sidelining the Sunnis into isolation and therefore the only solution left for them is to fight against this status.
The Sunnis are not receiving any share of the oil revenue, they are not present in the government, he said, adding therefore the status quo and the war that is continuing is a foreseeable consequence of the measures taken by the Iraqi government and this is the their response to confront this situation and getting their share.
