Relations between Tehran and Kuwait became very tense as the Iranian regime suddenly announced two projects to drill oil and gas from the al-Darre oil-gas zone, Al Arabiya.net reported on Wednesday, August 26th.
Kuwait says oil drilling must be launched after borders are specified at the ocean bed and both countries’ portion of this zone must be clarified. Kuwait summoned the Iranian regime’s charge d’ affaires for a meeting and demanding a desired response from Iran in this regard.
The Kuwaiti “al-Ray” daily wrote in this regard: Most probably coordination in the highest levels have taken place between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to prevent Iran’s measures on placing Kuwait before a fait accompli. In fact, Kuwait will also place a complaint with the United Nations.
