On the occasion of the New Year, Iraqi Christians gathered in the city of Ashraf to celebrate the New Year. They expressed their solidarity with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran and asked for the eviction of the Iranian fascist mullah’s regime from Iraq.

In this ceremony, Secretary General of the Iraqi Democratic Christian Movement Priest Bardelian Yousef Aziz, Dr. Khalid Mirza, Professor of Dental College of Baghdad University, Mufid Mikhael, from Democratic Christian Movement, Merqis Eskandar Dandu, Secretary General of Chaldeans Party, Ms. Ikhlas Mikhael, from Democratic Christian Movement, and Aamer Najm Abdullah delivered their speeches.

The Christians explained the desperate situation of Iraqi Christians and the brutal atrocities imposed on them by the mullahs’ regime of Iran and its agents in Iraq. They said that over the past five years, more than 80 percent of the Christians were obliged to leave Iraq, the churches were being destroyed and in some areas like Basra the murder of Christians were still going on.

In their speeches, the Christians regarded new elections and formation of salvation government headed by Dr. Ayad Allawi as the only way to rescue the people of Iraq.

The participant in this celebration underlined their support of the PMOI and called the PMOI as the democratic alternative to the mullahs’ regime ruling Iran.
