Importing weapons and IEDs to Wassit is the biggest security problem in this Iraqi province

The special criminal investigation committee of the Wassit province of Iraq announced the greatest and the most important threat of that province was sending arms and IEDs by the Iranian regime.

According to Al-Hurra TV, Majed al-Emara, director of that committee, in a press conference, said: The militias and members of political parties have infiltrated in security systems of Wassit province.

He added: We witness continuously discovery and confiscations of Iran-made arms, ammunition and IEDs in different neighborhoods of the city of Kut. All of the arms and IEDs that are either found or being employed in Kut are Iranian made. We have problems with the Iranian regime in the border regions, but this is our biggest problem in the Wassit province, because no proper and adequate control is imposed at the border region with Iran.

He asked for purge of governmental offices and organs in Wassit province from the militias and elements affiliated to the Iranian regime.
