Aljazeera TV reports opposition activities in US in solidarity with Iranian protestors

NCRI – The Arabic satellite television network, Aljazeera, broadcast a report on some of the activities of sympathizers of the main Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), in the US in solidarity with the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising. Below is an excerpt:
“In the US, where the largest number of Iranian refugees resides, the political activities of the refugees have become more intense after the heightening of the presidential election crisis in Iran. Some Iranians continue with their campaign in California and demand change in Iran.
At a Los Angeles suburb, a group of Iranians discuss their next steps. The Society in Defense of Democracy in Iran is working day and night to prepare for an upcoming large rally to be held in Washington. Their political view is that the ruling system in Iran cannot be reformed and Iranians seek change.
Nasser Sharif of the Society in Defense of Democracy in Iran says: We want the regime in Iran to be changed. We also seek the holding of a free election under the supervision of the United Nations and on the basis of popular sovereignty and not absolute clerical rule. We ask the international community to support these demands by imposing political pressure against the regime.
The society makes no effort to hide its sympathy for the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), which has been listed as a terrorist organization by the US government, and calls on the US to recognize the Iranian opposition instead of talking with the ruling regime.”
