According to Agence France Presse, Nouri Maliki on Wednesday threatened to crackdown on demonstrators.
“There is no country in the world that would tolerate blocking a highway,” he said.
“If the gatherings continue without permission, security forces must take measures to stop them,” Maliki added.
“The cabinet has formed a committee to review some of the demonstrators’ requests,” he claimed.
