Al Jazeera TV prepared a report on the status of the city of Mosul after armed tribes took control:
“Today’s events are like yesterday. From yesterday life has been gradually returning to the city. People are returning to their homes. Armed groups have given guarantees. In the absence of the Iraqi government and they are present in the streets. Armed groups are also stationed in gas stations, service centers, helping activities restart. They are also cleaning the city with Mosul municipality vehicles. Electricity has increased in comparison to the past. In areas where water was cut-off now drinking water is available. Long lines of vehicles were always seen before gas stations; however they are now able to get their necessary gas. The local markets have opened and the situation is better than the past. Barriers have been removed from the streets by the locals. Armed groups are using the military vehicles and they staged marches in various areas.”
Al Jazeera TV added armed groups are supervising over ordinary daily life. After a few hours the people overcame their fear and started cooperating with the armed groups.
