In Ahwaz, southern Iran, a large number of youth protested government’s actions resulting in drying of Karoon River. They put up posters and signs in a sports’ stadium saying “hail to Karoon” and “Karoon is not dead.”
A group of sports’ fans also gathered outside the stadium holding placards saying “Karoon belongs to Khuzestan.” This campaign was widely welcomed by other young people and youth in the area.
