Iraqi prisoners held in Baghdad warned promises provided by Maliki’s ministerial committee on releasing 335 prisoners in recent days has been nothing but a publicity stunt and no inmate has actually been released, Al –Sharqiya TV reported.
“I was among those who were released. They took us to the second Rasafa Prison. I want to tell you that Sharestani’s remarks are lies where he said we released 350 prisoners. These are nothing but lies intended to mislead people. They want us to forgo our rights,” a prisoner said to Al Sharqiya TV without providing his name for security reasons.
