
The fourth round of nuclear talks between the P5+1 and Iran ended in Vienna. In these talks that started on Tuesday, arrangements were made to agree on a draft of the final comprehensive agreement. In these few days, time and again the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton met with mullahs’ foreign minister Javad Zarif. Separate meetings between the mullahs’ regime and US representatives, along with other Western powers, also took place.
Catherine Ashton and Javad Zarif did not hold a joint press conference at the end of the Vienna talks. Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister said no significant advances were made in these talks.
Reuters reported US is concerned of the lack of advances in these negotiations. A senior US official emphasized the talks were slow and hard, and major rifts and difference still exist.
