Details on US-EU pressure on Lebanese Hezbollah

Lebanese media reported Hezbollah is facing serious pressure from Europe and the US after paying a heavy price in Syria, Al Arabiya TV reported.
The US House of Representatives will soon pass a bill targeting and sanctioning the Hezbollah-affiliated Itam Lebanon group and its financial institutions working under charity foundations in the US and Europe.
Germany has taken practical measures in this regard and banned the activities of this Lebanese institution, which had gathered large sums of money for Hezbollah. German authorities have raided 19 Hezbollah centers in six different states.

The Itam Lebanon institution had 80 members and during these raids $143,000 and 3 kilos of gold were confiscated. Since its foundation in 2007 this institution had gathered $4mn for Hezbollah.
But this is not the whole story. Under this framework Congress is preparing laws for new and tough sanctions against Hezbollah’s financial sources. Pro-Hezbollah media outlets that advertise for this group will also be included in these sanctions. These limitations will seriously weaken Hezbollah’s ability to continue its terrorist activities across the globe.
Lebanese sources have said Hezbollah is suffering from financial problems to a point that it could not pay the salaries of its employees and institutions up to last month. The Iranian regime, being the main Hezbollah financial supporter, is facing major financial problems itself.
