In response to Maliki’s threatening statement, Nechirvan Barzani, Kurdistan region prime minister, said that we always urged that there would be no war between Kurds and Arabs, but unfortunately Maliki’s remarks did not contain such meaning and we were not satisfied with that.
Asharqiya TV also cited Moqtada Sadr as criticizing Maliki’s recent threat against political partners and said that it was a great mistake and should not be repeated.
Moqtada Sadr reiterated on vote of no-confidence against Maliki. According to Baghdad Daily, Moqtada Sadr told Erbil meeting parties that he would be ready for vote of no-confidence against Maliki if 123 votes were provided.
Aljazeera TV reported that Kurdistan regional government reinforced its military presence in the region and it has stationed 8,000 armed forces in a region 5 kilometers north of Kirkuk.
