Over 700 people arrested on beaches for ‘mal-veiling’

Mohammad Massoud Zahedeiyan, head of the moral police in Iran, referred to the fact that each year the police carries out repressive measures at beaches in the three provinces of Gilan, Mazandaran and Golestan in northern Iran.
“This year, by increasing the capacity of the police and by stationing elements of this force, 722 lawbreakers have been introduced to judicial authorities.”
This is while he shamefully admitted in this very speech, “From the beginning of implementing this plan 44 individuals have drowned in the beaches of Gilan and Mazandaran.”
