
Protests and demonstrations calling for Malik’s overthrow continued on Monday in cities across Iraq.
In al-Anbar Province, demonstrators in al-Anbar Province continued their protests by chanting for the toppling of Maliki’s government.
According to Al Jazeera, in Salahaddin Province the cities of Tikrit, Biji and Samara were scenes of thousands of protesters continuing their demonstrations and protest rallies.
In Mosul, Maliki’s security forces prevented demonstrators from marching on to the protest square.
Security forces beat and dispersed the demonstrators, yet they continued their rallies until finally reaching al-Ahrar Square, Al Jazeera reported.

Al Rafedein TV reported Maliki’s repressive forces opened fire on demonstrators in Mosul.
During this attack two demonstrators were killed by Maliki’s repressive forces while four others were injured.
In other news, al-Taqeer TV aired reports indicating Iraqi Army vehicles attacked and ran over demonstrators in Mosul, leading to ten demonstrators being injured.
Al-Hayat daily published a report citing Sunni mufti Sheikh Abed al-Malak al-Sa’di strongly criticizing Nouri Maliki and condemning his threats to use force against the people.
In the meantime, al-Hurra TV reported Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Mutlak in a press conference in Baghdad called on the Iraqi Army to protect the people’s peaceful demonstrations.
