Tensions continue between the Kurdistan Regional Government and Baghdad, with KRG President Massud Barzani meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani for the second time in ten days, Al Sharqiya News reported.
This meeting was held to discuss crises raised between the central government and the KRG following the formation of the Dijla Operations Command (DOC).
Talabani and Barzani described the DOC formation by Maliki’s government as a ‘destructive and inimical measure against the high interests of the Iraqi people and the country’s constitution.’
