Near Latakia the Syrian rebels said they were able to fight off and defeat another wave of attacks by Assad elements launched in numerous axes and backed by Russian helicopter gunships, Al Jazeera TV reported on Friday.
This is the third ground attack against Syrian rebel positions after Russian airstrikes began in Syria on September 30th. However, these attacks have born no fruit on the ground for Assad and their allies.
At least two civilians have been killed in the airstrikes carried out by Russian warplanes on the town of Khan Sheikhoun near Idlib.
