The International Association for Freedom of Religion based in Switzerland called on UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay to take action to have the illegally appointed deadline by Maliki to close down Camp Ashraf be lifted. This association, with United Nations advisory ranking, said the international community and human rights organizations throughout the world are worried of yet another attack by Iraqi forces against the defenseless Ashraf residents. Iraq Prime Minister Nouri Maliki has announced he will closedown Camp Ashraf before the end of the year. This ultimatum means we will witness a new massacre in Ashraf in less than 3 months, the Swiss association continued while adding, Mrs. Pillay and the OHCHR have an obligation to prevent this killing spree in any way possible. This association reminded that Ashraf residents were recently recognized by the UNHCR through a statement declaring them officially as asylum seekers. This declaration also mentioned to the Iraqi government its obligations under the International Law, calling on Baghdad to extend the deadline imposed to closedown Camp Ashraf.
