On Thursday, March 26, the anti-human clerical regime secretly hanged 12 prisoners in Shiraz and Mashhad.
In a criminal act, five prisoners were collectively hanged in Mashhad. Six others were collectively hanged in Pirnia Prison of Shiraz, and another prisoner was hanged in Adelabad Prison of Shiraz.
To create terror and impose added pressure and torture, henchmen had transferred the seven prisoners executed in Shiraz to solitary confinement two days before Nowruz so that they would spend the moments of the New Year awaiting death.
The religious fascism ruling Iran has refrained from publishing the reports and information on these prisoners.
These executions are just trivial examples of the nationwide repression, especially the growing number of executions that have taken place during Mullah Rouhani’s tenure as the President of the clerical regime.
On March 25, Mr. Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, reported of 1000 executions carried out in the past 15 months. Prior, he had pointed to the escalation of executions and the deterioration of the situation of human rights in Iran and had warned about the situation of human rights in Iran being overshadowed by the nuclear negotiations. Mr. Shaheed stipulated that since the assumption of presidency by Mullah Hassan Rouhani in 2013, the situation of human rights in Iran has generally deteriorated (AFP – March 16, 2015).
