AFP, Berlin, June 9, 2010  – German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Wednesday she ’strongly welcomed’ a decision by the UN Security Council to impose a fourth round of sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme.

’I strongly welcome the approval of this resolution on the Iranian nuclear programme,’ Merkel told reporters. ’The world will make sure that Iran does not have nuclear weapons.’
