Yemen: Shabwah Province, Ta’izz governorate building captured by popular resistance forces

Popular resistance forces in Shabwah Province declared most of the cities and towns in this province, especially the city of Ataq, being the province capital, have been captured, Al Jazeera TV reported on Saturday, August 15th.
The resistance press center said the cities of Haban, Said, Aram, Aza and other areas in Shabwah Province are under the popular resistance forces’ control.
Houthi militants and troops loyal to ousted dictator Ali Abdullah Salah suddenly fled from the province capital early Saturday morning.
Furthermore, popular resistance forces in Yemen said the Ta’izz governorate building was captured, Al Jazeera reported.
7 civilians were killed and over 40 were injured, most of them children, in the artillery barrage launched by Houthi militants and Salah’s troops on residential areas in this city, medical sources said.
A number of mosques were reportedly targeted by the militants’ artillery barrages during Friday’s mass prayers.
