Saudi Arabia said it backs the Iran nuclear agreement, yet emphasizes on a specific, intense and permanent inspections regime on all sites, including military facilities. Riyadh also emphasized on a mechanism to snap back sanctions if necessary.
The state-run Saudi news agency cited an official source adding Saudi Arabia agrees with the P5+1 and the international community that sanctions related to Iran’s support for terrorism and violations of international arms treaties and agreements must continue.
According to the nuclear agreement Iran must use its resources for internal development and improve the Iranian people’s status. The agreement specifically says these resources should not be used to destabilize the region. Such measures will be met with firm action from countries of the region.
